Captain Flint

I'm a big fan of the show Black Sails so I used it as inspiration to push my sculpting, texture painting, shading and rendering. I've been using this project as a way to learn about Arnold, the AlShader and Xgen for hair.

I also wanted to try some new workflows with the Texturing XYZ maps for high frequency detail. The head is broken into 3 UV tiles at 8k each to try to maximize the displacement quality. I did the sculpt in Mudbox, hand painted textures and rendered in Maya. I'm still fine tuning things as I continue to learn more of the ins and outs of the AlShader and Xgen.
